5 minutes with natural beauty, Amanda Rootsey

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT … my beautiful family, Davey & Trudi.

I RELAX BY … meditating each day.

I LIKE TO … go with the flow and enjoy each and every moment!

I THINK BEAUTY IS … a happy & content soul, shining from within.

MY FRIDGE USUALLY CONTAINS … ahhh, we actually don’t have a fridge at the moment!  We try to pick as much as possible from our veggie garden for each meal.

MY EXERCISE ROUTINE IS … walking each morning with my beautiful dog, Trudi, swimming at the local pool a few times a week and I try to do a few sessions of yoga each week, just on my balcony at home.

MY NUMBER ONE BEAUTY TIP IS … you are what you eat, so eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water and eliminate animal products 🙂

Amanda has been working as a model for over 10 years. Most of this time was with Australia’s leading agency, Viviens Model Management, as well as agencies in Germany and Italy. After beating cancer and changing her lifestyle considerably, she has become very passionate about taking care of our beautiful planet and has chosen to work exclusively with eco-friendly and ethical companies that share her values.

She has recently been featured on the cover of eco-fashion magazine Peppermint, who described Amanda as an “eco-activist, vegan warrior and all round advocate for Mother Earth.”  Some of her other recent clients include Mother Maria, Sanctus Stones and Montville Organic Skincare.  In 2011, Amanda was featured on the cover of Peppermint Magazine, Natural Health & Vegetarian Life Magazine and Insight Magazine.

Amanda is not your average model; she doesn’t just talk the talk, she walks the walk.  Amanda is also a passionate teacher and mentor for teen girls through her business Shine From Within, a modern holistic training school giving teen girls the tools & confidence to shine.  She also trains women to be inspiring youth mentors in their own community.

Amanda leads an environmentally friendly lifestyle, and even lived “off the grid” in a solar powered shipping container on top of a mountain for a year – with her partner, David Rafter and puppy, Trudi – where they grew their own vegetables and collected their own water. Today, they continue to love living simply.

Amanda also enjoys writing and has contributed articles on a variety of topics to Australian and International magazines and online publications including Holistic Bliss Magazine, Wellness Warrior and Modern Hippie Mag.
