Angela shares her story of her struggles with body image and how she overcame her eating disorder. She is now a dedicated spokesperson on eating disorders and is on a mission to create a world of confident and healthy girls and women. She encourages girls and women to ask themselves daily “What do I love about myself today?”

I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT … my family. I have been married to my husband for 10 years and we have two beautiful and sweet children. I have always wanted to have a family and I truly love being a wife and mother. I love my life. Being a partner in the marriage to my loving husband has been a dream. He is the love of my life and I am not me without having him by my side. Our kids are magical, they bring so much life into our lives. Whenever they spend the night at the nana and papa’s house, it just doesn’t feel right. Our house is so quiet! They love being alive, they teach us everyday how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

I RELAX BY … taking a hot bath, reading a good book, taking a walk, or sitting by the fire at night when the kids are asleep and catching up with my husband. Even if I can only squeeze in a 10 minute bath, that ‘me’ time during the day is sometimes all I need. I do not handle stress very well, so I try to keep my life as simple and laid back as I can. I feel life can be stressful enough, so when the times are good, relax and enjoy those moments.

I LIKE TO … be inspired by others. There are some really amazing individuals out there and I love to hear their stories. I am constantly meeting some pretty unbelievably talented and passionate people and they are what keeps me going. There is always room to grow and better ourselves. I feel so much attention is given to such negative press, I want to help spotlight inspirational people. Everyone has a story to tell and everyone can learn from one another.

THINK BEAUTY IS … diverse. When someone exudes warmth, kindness, confidence, and individuality, I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than that! I believe everyone is beautiful in there own unique way and the trick is to find what makes you unique and special and be proud of it.

MY FRIDGE USUALLY CONTAINS … a variety of different foods! It is very important to me to feed my family a healthy balanced diet. If you would open up our refrigerator now you would find milk, our sons drinks tons of it :), orange juice, we always have asparagus, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, spinach, many vegetables because every night we have a salad with dinner. Our family loves cheese, we have deli meats for sandwiches, yogurts, I love my international delight coffee creamer ( I know it isn’t good for you, but I LOVE it!). My husband loves to fish, so we always have salmon and halibut in our freezer. Everyone in our family LOVES seafood. Having children, it is important to us to teach them healthy eating habits, but we also have fruit snacks and macaroni and cheese in our house too! I always have a homemade pie or dessert. I love having baked goods at our home, our home is the meeting place for many of our family and friends…many people just stop by and I love to have something baking in the oven or I love having a treat to offer our guests.

MY EXERCISE ROUTINE IS … a variety of many different things! When my kids are in school, I go on walks with my good friend, we get a coffee and visit, it is fun! I love to go for a run, I have been running with my mom for 15 years, she is my hero! My husband and I do P90X in our living room, especially on winter nights when we can’t go outside to exercise, and I also use our treadmill quite a bit. I believe variety is definitely key, it keeps my body guessing and I don’t get bored! It has been more difficult to fit exercise into my daily routine since having children, but I try to as much as I can. If I don’t get it in during the day, I don’t worry about it like I used to, I keep plenty busy working around the house!

MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREATMENT THAT LEAVES ME LOOKING AND FEELING NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL IS … a massage! I had never had a massage before until about a year ago. A friend of mine owns a spa and she encouraged me to get a massage. I don’t get in there nearly as much as I would like to, but when I do I always leave feeling so relaxed. It probably isn’t safe for me to drive home because I am always in such a daze!!!! The trick it trying to keep yourself in that relaxed state!
