5 minutes with natural beauty, Cherida Forde


I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT … Apart from stating the obvious of being my amazing, supportive and loving family and friends, it would have to be my daily exercise! It sets up my day by clearing my head, giving me energy, makes me feel good about myself and ready to take on the day.

I RELAX BY … going to the beach. Whether its swimming and sun-baking in summer, or just a beach walk on winter days there is something about the beach that makes me instantly relaxed.

I LIKE TO … catch up with friends on the weekends for a latte or vino and good conversation.

I THINK BEAUTY IS … from the inside. True beauty comes from within not necessary on appearance (I know I’m stating the obvious here) And also a good sunrise or sunset. You can’t get more beautiful than that!

MY FAVOURITE BEAUTY TREATMENT THAT LEAVES ME LOOKING AND FEELING NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL IS … spoiling myself with a facial. I don’t get them very often but when I do I love how my skin appears fresher, younger, clearer and hydrated.

MY NUMBER ONE BEAUTY TIP IS … to stay hydrated and drink lots of water. The good thing about this tip is it doesn’t cost much to do!

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PEARL OF WISDOM THAT YOU WISH YOU COULD BROADCAST TO THE WORLD? That you only have one body in your life time so it really comes down to YOU to look after it.

WHAT IS IT INSPIRES YOU TO DO WHAT YOU DO? My happiness. If I’m not happy there is no point doing what I do, life is to short be be stuck in a job you don’t like or that changes the person you are.

Cherida Forde studied the Solomon Yogalates™ method in Byron Bay, taught by the master herself Louise Solomon. Cherida is also a qualified Personal Trainer and massage therapist in both remedial and Swedish massage and has a Diploma in Nutrition.

In 2013 Cherida launched Yoga Pilates Active (YP Active). Combining two of the most popular exercise disciplines, having the core stabilising dynamics of Pilates with the physical and mental benefits of yoga, YP Active will leave you stronger in body and mind, enhancing your strength, stamina, aerobic capacity, flexibility, balance and mental clarity.

Having built up a strong network in the health and fitness industry Cherida’s passion for health and fitness go far beyond just yoga and pilates. She lives and breathes health and fitness and when she’s not on a yoga mat you will find her training hard at her second home UFC gym in Sydney.

As of Spring 2014, Cherida has collaborated with Bottoms Up Fitness to launch YP Active classes onto their timetable.
