After 20+ years of training, research and work in the health and beauty industry I was initially inspired to share my experience in the hope that it would demystify some of the illusions and delusions.
In a world with so much conflicting information, advertising everywhere we turn, and a large number of brands concerned more with profit return than the long-term health of their customers, it’s no surprise that we are somewhat misled and confused about what beauty products to use, what foods to consume, and how best to improve our natural beauty.
I’ve been extremely fortunate to travel the world and learn from the most incredibly inspiring experts in various fields. Women and men who have knowledge and wisdom based on a lifetime of practical experience. My desire is to share their pearls of wisdom so that those of you, like me, who are interested in becoming happier, healthier and more beautiful version of ourselves, have the information, inspiration and products that deliver those desired results.
Whilst it’s great to see that health, wellbeing and natural beauty is becoming more mainstream, it also has it’s downfalls, as the big multinationals are jumping on this “natural” wave and polluting the industry with not-so-natural (i.e. harmful) products and recommendations. And whilst the internet is great for educating and inspiring people, with it comes a responsibility to research, prior to publishing, as there are a growing number of un-truths that are spread online, and a growing number of brands that are marketed as natural and organic, when they are far from it.
I have an unquenchable thirst to research and understand the truth about natural health, beauty and wellbeing. Not the passing fads that seem to do more harm, and pass by as quickly as they gained attention.
Be Naturallyou began as an information platform, with the primary intention to help clear a lot of the confusion by providing straight-forward, common-sense information including:
~ a list of cosmetic ingredients to avoid and why
~ a directory of natural ingredients that help to promote beautiful skin
~ the foods to consume to help promote clean, clear beautiful skin
~ recipes to inspire you to nourish you and your loved ones with delicious and nutritious meals
~ lifestyle choices to help bring about the natural sparkle in your eyes
~ lifestyle choices to help de-stress, and therefore invite more smiles and laughter to your day
with a side of inspiration, including:
~ interviews with inspirational natural beauties
~ personal reviews after visiting spa retreats all over the world
~ and then as the months ticked by, Be Naturallyou transformed in to an online shop containing a carefully curated selection of genuine natural, organic and ethical beauty products that deliver high-performance results. No marketing fluff. Just products that I was on a personal mission to find for my own use. Products with integrity that work!
If there’s anything else that you would particularly like to see featured on Be Naturallyou I’d love to hear from you. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org
oh and if you’re interested in who I am personally, and what stepping stones I have walked on that have brought me to the one in which inspired me to create Be Naturallyou here goes…
I am a whole-istic nutritionist. I enjoy making vegan choices for my daily diet, skin care rituals and fashion purchases. I am an optimist. I have a consuming love for the beach, countryside and nature. I am wholeheartedly in love with dogs. I am also crazy in love with cats, pigs, birds and horses. I studied make-up artistry, skin care and image training. I also studied to be a personal trainer and nutritionist. No matter what time of day it is, you’ll always find me sipping on a cup of herbal tea. I am constantly amazed at the healing powers of essential oils both physically and emotionally. I love to practice Zen Ki yoga. I love to walk on the beach and watch nature. I love to sun gaze in the afternoons, and gaze up at the stars in the evenings. I am forever grateful for the lovely emails that I receive from people who have been “touched” by my brand, Be Genki. I’m even more grateful for the wisdom that I have learnt from my greatest source of inspiration – Don Tolman. There is no truer truth than what Don shares with the world, and I always refer back to his recommendations first and foremost when treating myself, my loved ones, or people who come to me for consultations. I love to travel, anywhere and everywhere. I think massage is a necessity not a luxury. My family means everything to me. You could play the drums in my bedroom whilst I’m sleeping and I wouldn’t wake up. I loved doing that Vipassana meditation retreat of 10-days silence and meditation so much that I went back again and again. Many years ago I use to party til dawn and was fortunate to learn the tough but valuable lesson at a very young age that excessive consumption of alcohol and drugs is a tool for escapism. I now think it’s more fun creating my life as a happy and healthy adventure as opposed to escaping from it. I love to cook. I love giving and receiving energy work with the tools of Access Consciousness. I make a seriously kick-ass healthy and yummy smoothie. I spend a huge portion of my days researching and have an unquenchable thirst for educating myself moreso. I wish I could sing like KD Lang. I am deeply intrigued by the language of colour and how it can help in the understanding of our self, which I learnt through Aura-Soma. I don’t understand how or when humans got to the point where we stopped caring for mother earth and when I hear about an oil spill in our oceans or see someone throwing a cigarette butt in the gutter it hurts every living cell of my body, but I also truly believe that it’s not too late for the world to change. I am profoundly inspired by the talent, enthusiasm and initiative of younger generations. I am also deeply inspired by my grandmothers, the most gracious women I have ever known. I love to garden and talk to the plants and critters. I feel naked without painted toenails.
