Active Energised Organic Skincare (AEOS) is a product range that I first came across a number of years ago, and instantly fell in love with. Reason being (short version) … I was attending a beauty expo in the United States and stumbled on to the AEOS stand. A lovely lady named Sevi asked me if I would like a facial with a beautiful new product range made from organic and biodynamic ingredients, to which my response was “organic, biodynamic, YES PLEASE”. At the end she complimented me on how glowing and radiant my skin looked. To be honest, I’ve heard all the pitches after having a facial and am usually far from impressed with most products, as my skin is super sensitive and I am unbelievably picky with all products I use and consume. BUT… when I looked in the mirror that Sevi handed me, I was instantly impressed and amazed at how much better my skin in fact looked and felt after using the products. And so began my love affair with the AEOS range and philosophy.
A few months later I received a box of all the AEOS products of which I used, enjoyed and shared with other women that I trust for honest feedback. Another few months later I jumped on a plane to visit the people who developed the brand, to check out their lab where the products are made, and to go walkabouts on their Demeter-certified biodynamic farm in the oh-so-enchanting English countryside, where a portion of the ingredients are grown for use in the products. Was an absolute joy of an experience, and one which further cemented my love for this truly unique, luxurious and effective skin care range.
Everything from the way the ingredients are grown; to the way the lab is meticulously managed; to the way in which each ingredient is chosen for its beneficial properties to help promote a healthy glowing complexion; to the eco-friendly packaging and practices that the company upholds; to the nurture and care for staff and all people that are “touched” by the brand – AEOS has definitely won a place in my heart. Quite simply, AEOS sets a new benchmark for organic skin care. Made with love and intention by Aura-Soma, and going beyond the norm by using biodynamic ingredients, as well as spagyric tinctures of crystals and gems (specially prepared for AEOS according to an ancient alchemic process), and the waveforms of colour, AEOS offers more than just skincare, for those of you who wish to nurture and care for yourself in a more meaningful way.
This of course is the brief version, as AEOS is a brand with so much depth that I would literally fill a book outlining all the benefits and points of difference. But here goes, with my 3 favorite bits:
Not all organic products are created equal. Not all ingredients are created equal. It is very much dependent on a number of factors such as the soil the ingredients are grow in, the manner of which the oil is extracted and the other components that are added in this process just to begin with. Water is also something that can be adulterated. With skincare products you obviously would like the water component to be as pure and beneficial as possible. The quality of water they use in all AEOS products is paramount and based on 30 years of research and development, and that which is being improved upon constantly. For example, it won’t be too long before AEOS introduce their latest development of reducing the size of the water molecules so that they can penetrate the skin layers more effectively. Pretty smart huh!
2: Spelt Oil
All AEOS skincare products contain pure biodynamic spelt oil, that is grown and harvested on the Aura-Soma® (Demeter-certified) biodynamic farm, and extracted using supercritical CO2 extraction to maintain the full properties of the oils. Spelt is an ancient cousin of modern wheat and is bursting with vitamins and proteins. Due to the way in which the plant itself is grown, the spelt as an ingredient is very ‘available’ to the skin for optimal absorption. i.e. a grain that hasn’t been genetically modified so our bodies have an immediate recognition of “what to do with it” and “how to use it”. AEOS’ biodynamic spelt oil is extremely rich in natural Vitamin E and essential fatty acids and boasts excellent antioxidant, moisturising and regenerative properties. As a result it may be particularly beneficial for prematurely ageing, very dry skin or when the skin is subject to harsh environments or extreme changes in temperature. Spelt oil has also been reported to help those with skin conditions such as eczema. Quite simply, a fab all-rounder ingredient that is beneficial for all skin types.
3: Tinctures of cystals and gems
It seems that crystals and gems are slowly creeping in to the beauty industry. No longer are they confined to the “witch craft” and “hocus pocus” arena. But, whilst it sounds lovely to have rare and luxurious gems included in a product, how exactly do they penetrate the skin to bring about the so-called desired result? The creators of AEOS have introduced something quite revolutionary here, by utilising spagyric tinctures of gems and crystals prepared according to an ancient holistic alchemic process, which views body, soul and spirit as a balanced unity. And for all of you ‘beauty geeks’ like me, here’s the technical details:
Spagyric refers to the process of separation, purification and re-combining of materials – fundamental alchemical techniques used for the preparation of substances. By separation and parting of the original substance into its diverse components, the useful is first separated from the useless. Using a specific method of new composition, the pure and useful components are combined together again. The spagyric tincture manufactured in this manner contains the beneficial substances in refined form and is thus more therapeutically effective than the original substance. Spagyric tinctures are not effective because of their ingredients; rather, they are effective because of the metaphysical powers released by the manufacturing process. Spagyric is alchemy in practice and adheres to alchemical laws practiced by Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine. By bringing together the alchemical techniques of the ancients along with cutting edge skincare formulas, the AEOS products provide a medium through which these tinctures may have a direct effect on the human energy field. It is a truly unique approach to skincare and general well-being.
What did I road test?
Each morning I cleanse with the Gentle Cleansing Lotion (Pink), then rebalance my skin with the Energising Conditioner and Refreshing Hydrating Mist, and finish by rehydrating with the Realive Serum and Enriching Moisturiser (Pink). A little really does go a LONG way with these products. Due to the layering of each product, you only need a teeny tiny amount. So each product lasts for at least 6 weeks, and some even longer … 3 months+.
Each evening I remove my makeup with the Cleansing Oil De-Maq followed by the Dew Facial Wash, then rebalance my skin with the Energising Conditioner and Refreshing Hydrating Mist, and finish by rehydrating with the Realive Serum. I don’t feel the need for a moisturiser at night-time.
And then on those nights when I was particularly lazy I simply remove my makeup with the Cleansing Oil De-Maq and crawl to bed, as this fab find is super hydrating as well!
So how did my skin look and feel after using AEOS for 6 weeks?
I noticed a significant difference after a few days, and as I kept to my ritual of using the products morning and night my complexion kept improving. Was one of those moments of “jumping for joy” to finally find a skin care brand that delivers such beautiful and noticeable results.
My favourite product?
The AEOS Energising Conditioner that encourages the skin to find its own equilibrium, balancing skin that is too oily or too dry. And my goodness it certainly does what it says it does.
