About 25 years ago, when I was in my teens I purchased a book called The Killer Plagues to Come. Yes, a wee bit morbid. But hey … I’m all for education, awareness and taking those rose-tinted glasses off. Why? Because whilst I’m a hopeless romantic and forever optimistic about how anything can be changed if given enough attention and action, I am also a realist. And here’s the reality … we live in a toxic world.
The earth that our fresh produce is grown in, is increasingly depleted in vitamins, minerals and life force. Crops are poisoned with pesticides, herbicides and fungicides, that have a flow on effect to the declining state of our health – physically and mentally.
Gone are the days where we can safely drink from rivers. In fact, the majority of our waterways are poisoned. Even the municipal water that comes out of our household taps is laced with contaminants that wreak havoc on our health: chlorine, fluoride, pesticide residue, pharmaceutical drugs, recreational drugs, heavy metals etc etc.
Chemtrails (geo-engineering) are no longer considered a ‘conspiracy’. It is now commonly accepted (and admitted) that heavy metals such as aluminium, barium and strontium are being sprayed in the sky. Whether you choose to believe that this is a method to ‘control the weather’, ‘poison the population’ or any other justification, the facts are the facts … heavy metals are present and having an effect on the health of people all over the world.
I could keep going on, and on, but I won’t. This article is not designed to highlight all the ‘problems’ in the world. But more so a list of ‘options’ that help to not only protect our beautiful bodies from all these hazards, but also to help improve the state of our health if we are suffering from any number of dis-eases such as, but not limited to, everything from heavy metal toxicity, poor immunity, digestive issues, and degenerative disorders; through to the common cold, infertility, hormone imbalances, and low energy.
Whilst I’m very much an advocate for obtaining essential nutrients from a healthy diet based on whole foods, sometimes we need to bring out the big guns. The products listed below are those which I have found to contribute to (and improve) my health and wellbeing. I consume these products on a daily, weekly, monthly or seasonal basis, depending on how I feel or what my requirements are.
To give you a better ‘picture’, I have been travelling from anywhere between 100 – 200 days a year for the past 8 years. Jumping on and off approximately 50 planes a year, over 20+ countries. That’s a lot of toxic aeroplane air with global ‘bugs’, a lot of exposure to radiation, a lot of crap airline and hotel food, and a lot of changes for my body to adjust to. Throughout these 8 years, I have effectively remained healthy with not a single ‘common cold’. My recent blood tests showed that I have ZERO heavy metal toxicity (despite visiting Fukushima the week after the nuclear disaster and subsequent visits to Japan each year after), candida (despite previous test results from 10 years ago showing candida in my blood system), parasites (my husband and I were the only people in the group who went to India that did not get sick with a stomach bug, in fact we remained perfectly healthy the entire time in Jaipur due to the preventative measures we took), and many more positives from recent blood tests.
I share this, not to brag, as I am certainly not ‘super human’. When in my early 20s, blood tests showed that I had leukopenia. What that basically means is that I had a low white blood cell count aka disease-fighting cells. I wasn’t ‘sick’. I was a walking talking ‘normal’ person and I wouldn’t have been any wiser about my low white blood cell count, had I not had the tests done. So how does a person with a less than average immune system, effectively improve their immune system, to avoid getting ‘sick’ with everyday ‘accepted’ common ailments?
It has become (and still is) my MISSION to improve my immune system, because I wholeheartedly believe that we can influence our health with our daily habits. That book I read all those years ago – The Killer Plagues to Come – armed me with the understanding that a strong immune system is PARAMOUNT for enjoying health and wellbeing in this toxic world.
I am here to share with you how I effectively keep my body and mind healthy, my immune system strong, my digestive system functioning optimally and contaminants detoxed from my body.

Side Note: Yes, I also eat healthily. For me, that means a diet based on organic whole foods. i.e. no processed foods, no junk food, no GMO foods, no soft drinks or pasteurised juices. And yes, I also treat myself because dogma isn’t going to be helpful to anyone … dark chocolate is a daily essential and I love a G&T as day turns to night.
