Mokosh was founded in 2006 by Dr Marion O’Leary, a former veterinarian, pathologist and medical scientist.
A series of events led me to look at the ingredients used in skin care products. The more I researched, the more concerned I became about the long-term health effects of exposure to widely used ingredients. In particular, some of the common preservatives, which are added to virtually all products, may be absorbed into the body with potentially harmful effects. Other synthetic ingredients like emulsifiers are routinely added to moisturisers – these are detergent-like molecules that can interfere with the skin’s barrier function, and most are derived from environmentally damaging palm oil. I decided there had to be a better way, and that it was time to reinvent the way we use skin care.
– Marion O’Leary
A few years later Marion started working with Jayne Bland who introduced her to the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda, which inspired and influenced how they formulated Mokosh products.
Mokosh products are formulated using the latest scientific research to select botanical ingredients rich in nutrients known to support skin health, combined with knowledge from the ancient Indian science of Ayurveda. The products are designed to work in tandem with the body’s healing and regenerative systems. Mokosh lovers find that their skin responds with enhanced resilience, vibrance and health, revealing its own unique natural beauty.

What we love most about Mokosh
The first thing I noticed about Mokosh was the texture of each product. And the scent. To say that I fell in love with the face and body creams is an understatement. My gosh … I could literally bathe head-to-toe in that Frankincense & Orange Body Cream. And I did…. smothering myself in it each morning. The result: the softest, smoothest, delicous-est skin EVER.
And yes, every other product in the range is just as good. What I also love about this range is the multi-tasking aspect of each product. Because, hey, I’m all about streamlining the bathroom shelf. And am a big advocate for encouraging all our cherished Be Naturallyou customers to become more conscious of spending habits. What’s the point in having 6 different serums that all do the same thing, sitting on the shelf, going off. It’s pointless, a waste of hard earned cash, and not so responsible for reducing our footprint on the earth. Instead, I’m all for encouraging smarter shopping choices. Mokosh ticks that box. With products that can be used for a multiple of pleasurable delights to bring about a beautiful complexion.
And this brings me to the results. If you desire a healthy, clean, fresh complexion, then Mokosh is for you. This fuss-free range does what it says on the box, to effectively hydrate, nourish and improve skin. Love it!

Heaven in a jar! Yes, it’s really that good. The only bad thing about this product is when you get to the bottom of the jar. Hands down my favourite from the Mokosh range.

OK, so yes, it’s soap. But we all know that there are nasty boring soaps, and then there are soaps that soften the skin with beautiful botanicals and plant oils. And then there’s the beautiful scent. This one is a bathroom staple!

HAVE YOU TRIED MOKOSH? WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR PRODUCTS?
Our brand and product selection is based on thorough research, based on 20+ years of industry experience. If we are not certain that an ingredient is safe and effective at bringing about desired results, we won’t stock the product. ‘Natural’ and ‘organic’ products and online shops are becoming more prevalent these days. Whilst this is great, it also is rather confusing, as many ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ brands out there contain toxic ingredients that sound ‘natural’ or ‘naturally-derived’ but are indeed irritating to the skin and internal organs. If you are unsure about any ingredient, product or brand, please don’t hesitate to get in touch in the comment box below.
