Sappho Cosmetics was named as a rival of Chanel and M.A.C. by Toronto’s green beauty expert Donna Bishop.
Founded by Emmy nominated makeup up artist JoAnn Fowler and developed with experts in the field of green formulation, Sappho New Paradigm offers formulations which blend impeccably with all skin types. Created with the finest certified organic ingredients, infused with phyto-nutrients and tested by professional makeup artists, the performance of this line is what you will fall in love with.
JoAnn has enjoyed professional recognition and acclaim over the last 20 years, working as a makeup artist both in film & television across North America. In the early 2000s, after extended research on chemicals in cosmetics JoAnn decided to develop a clean line of toxin-free makeup to provide her clients with a viable alternative to the toxic chemically laden commercial brands then available on the market.
JoAnn is known for her regular work on major actors and fashion icons including Jennifer Beal, Pam Grier, Drew Barrymore, Lindsay Lohan, Carmen Electra, Maria Bello, Katie Cassidy, Mia Kirshner, Jack Black, Snoop Dog, Matthew Fox to name a few.
Who is Sappho New Paradigm suitable for?
Anyone who is looking for a luxury make up range that is natural, organic, vegan and cruelty free.
What we love most about Sappho New Paradigm
There are so many things to love about Sappho Cosmetics: the natural and organic formulations, the luxurious packaging, the silky feeling of the products when applied to the skin, the way they improve skin health and beauty (as opposed to clogging pores and causing breakouts that other brands do), and most of all, Sappho gives brilliant natural-looking makeup finishes for all skin types. If you’re looking for a cosmetic line that ticks all the boxes then Sappho is it.
You’ll never switch to another brand after using Sappho. One thing I found particularly impressive when I first applied the Sappho concealer, foundation and powders was that the products that contain mica don’t get in to the fine lines around my eyes. You know that sparkly sheen that some natural mineral makeup brands have, that, quite frankly, looks ghastly and over-done. There’s no trace of that with Sappho. Proof that you can’t look at an ingredient list to determine how it will function on the skin as every other brand that I’ve tried that contains mica makes me look aged by exacerbating my fine lines (not the desired result for sure). Sappho is THAT amazing!

I love to apply this under my eyes and in the little corner crevice of my nose to even out any redness and under eye darkness. It brightens whilst looking natural.

Whilst it’s nigh on impossible to choose a favourite product from the Sappho range, if push came to shove and I was forced to, then the CC CREAM would be it. There are no words that explain just how fab this product is for giving the illusion of complexion perfection. I personally love to wear it on it’s own during the day time as it gives a great natural looking finish, but when I go out at night I add a little foundation to glam things up a bit.

The foundation was the first product that I tried from the Sappho range, and the product that got me hooked on the brand, so much so that I tried the rest of the product range. Fell more in love. And voila … introduced it to Be Naturallyou. It’s a great everyday foundation that delivers complexion perfection. Just one pump is all you need for a light (yet effective) coverage. Or if you’re wanting a heavier coverage then apply an additional pump. It smooths in to the skin effortlessly. Looks incredibly natural, like you’re not wearing makeup at all. And it pairs beautifully with the Concealers. I love to set the foundation with the setting powder and by doing this my makeup stays in place all night long. Love it!

HAVE YOU TRIED SAPPHO NEW PARADIGM? WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR PRODUCTS?
Our brand and product selection is based on thorough research, based on 20+ years of industry experience. If we are not certain that an ingredient is safe and effective at bringing about desired results, we won’t stock the product. ‘Natural’ and ‘organic’ products and online shops are becoming more prevalent these days. Whilst this is great, it also is rather confusing, as many ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ brands out there contain toxic ingredients that sound ‘natural’ or ‘naturally-derived’ but are indeed irritating to the skin and internal organs. If you are unsure about any ingredient, product or brand, please don’t hesitate to get in touch in the comment box below.
Andrea
Just wondering whether this foundation has any SPF sun protection?
Samantha
Hi Andrea, thank you for getting in touch. Yes, the Sappho Foundation has Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide, but in a small amount, so if you’re going to be out and about in the sunshine all day then I wouldn’t rely on the foundation alone. Either a hat or an application of an SPF prior to applying the Foundation would be wiser. I hope that helps. With love, Samantha
